Chief Executive Officer
As Chief Executive Officer of Modern Hire, Kurt Heikkinen is responsible for business operations and the overall success and growth of the company. Kurt has a proven track record of leading start-up companies and large enterprises through technology product launch to serve rapidly emerging markets.
During his 20-year tenure working with enterprise software within the talent management and SaaS domains, Kurt held the office of President and CEO of Montage and other senior executive positions at PeopleSoft, Inc., Evolve, Inc., and Metavante.
Brian Stern, President of Modern Hire, is responsible for setting the course and fostering the culture that supports the organization’s continued growth and success. His deep and broad experience in selection science, large-scale talent analytics, client relations, and organizational consulting are part of Modern Hire’s essential knowledge base.
Brian’s previously served as CEO and President of Shaker International, of which he was also a founder. His prior experience also includes being Vice President of Americas Consulting for CEB/SHL; Vice President and co-founder of Olsen, Stern, Murphy & Hogan; Research Associate for the Human Resources Research Organization (HumRRO); and a graduate research fellow for the US Army Institute for the Behavioral and Social Sciences.
Chief Financial Officer
As Modern Hire’s Chief Financial Officer, Dave Matre is responsible for accounting, corporate finance, risk management, human resources, legal, treasury, and investor relations. Dave brings over 25 years of finance, accounting, and operations experience gained in startup, high-growth, and large public company environments.
Dave previously served as the Chief Financial Officer at Montage. He has led numerous early stage, venture capital-backed, software and technology companies through dynamic growth cycles, implemented scalable internal systems, closed equity, and debt financing rounds and has directed M&A activity.
Chief Product Officer
As Chief Product Officer, Peter Baskin leads product vision and strategy for Modern Hire’s all-in-one enterprise hiring platform. Peter brings more than 20 years of SaaS-based HR technology experience and well-recognized expertise in advancing innovation in recruiting.
Peter previously served as Chief Product Officer with Montage, VP of Product Management for Innovation and Machine Learning at SAP SuccessFactors, and oversaw the growth, acquisition, and integration of two startup companies acquired by Oracle and SAP SuccessFactors.
Chief Technology Officer
Bringing more than 15 years of experience in talent assessment and 30 years of technology expertise, Robert Stephens, Chief Technology Officer at Modern Hire, is skilled in building and leading the growth of technology operations and key to the organization’s expansion of product.
Robert previously served as the Chief Technology Officer at Shaker International, acted as Global CTO of SHL, served as CTO at Vanco Payments and Focus Pointe Global, and was a co-founder of Xceleration Partners, a firm assisting companies in M&A readiness, execution, and integration, and held senior technology roles at multiple large-scale communications companies.
Chief Commercial Officer
With more than 15 years of experience in talent assessment and over 20 years of sales expertise, Chief Commercial Officer Tony Anello is an accomplished executive leader with a successful record of growing business. Responsible for Modern Hire’s business development, account management, and partner programs, Tony is focused on accelerating the organization’s growth into new markets.
Tony served as Chief Commercial Officer at Shaker International and held executive sales and business development positions at Thomsons, CEB, and SHL. He also previously served as Director of Sales at ePredix/Previsor (acquired by CEB) and Senior Business Development Manager at LexisNexis.
VP, Account Management
As Modern Hire’s Vice President of Account Management, Sarah Doughty provides executive oversight for growing existing client partnerships. In this role, Sarah focuses on establishing programs that guide our clients through our maturity model to create a superior candidate experience, transform their hiring processes, and maximize ROI.
Previously, Sarah was VP, Account Management at Montage and Director of IBM Services at eCapital Advisors, where she led the organization in aggressive revenue and resource growth. Sarah’s background includes more than ten years in consulting services, leading teams through technical implementations, and developing methodologies to drive scalable growth.
Dennis brings more than 17 years of finance executive leadership to his role at Modern Hire. As Executive Vice President, Finance, Dennis leads critical projects involving enhancing financial systems and ensuring domestic and international tax compliance. He plays a key role in our accounting and financial planning functions. Dennis is a successful finance veteran of the B2B SaaS/software space.
He previously served as Chief Financial Officer at Shaker International. He also was Vice President of Finance and Senior Director of Finance for two of Wolters Kluwer’s B2B SaaS businesses and Director of Finance at Covance, Inc.’s custom software business. He has experience as a management and strategy consultant with Cap Gemini Ernst & Young and World Class International.
EVP, Professional Services
With more than 25 years of selection science experience, Scott Goodman, Executive Vice President, Professional Services, leads the teams of skilled professionals behind the design, build, and delivery of Modern Hire’s assessments. He provides the technical expertise, direction, and foresight to ensure the highest level of service and client engagement.
Scott’s prior experience includes serving as Executive Vice President of Operations at Shaker International, of which he was also a founder. He also previously was Managing Director of North American Consulting for CEB/SHL; Senior Consultant at Olsen, Stern, Murphy & Hogan; and Consultant at IBM.
As Vice President of Marketing, Terri is responsible for evangelizing the Modern Hire brand story and continuing to build its reputation as the industry leader in interviewing and assessment technology. She also defines and drives demand generation for the company. Terri has spent her entire career advancing B2B brands.
Terri previously served as Vice President of Marketing at Montage and for a WI-based technology company. Terri also spent over 12 years at ManpowerGroup in a variety of sales and marketing roles, finishing her tenure as Director of Integrated Marketing for North America.
Chief Science Officer
Mike Hudy, Chief Science Officer at Modern Hire, is an industry expert in predictive modeling using human capital data with more than two decades of experience in experiment design and talent analytics. Mike is skilled in deciphering the complexities and ambiguities of talent acquisition to create the practical, effective, and satisfying solutions clients and candidates deserve.
Mike’s prior experience includes serving as Executive Vice President of Science at Shaker International, of which he was also a founder. He also was Senior Consultant at CEB/SHL and Training Evaluation Analyst at Nationwide Insurance.
VP, Client Success
As Vice President of Client Success, Amy Martin is responsible for the ensuring that Modern Hire clients realize all the benefits of a long-term partnership. Amy also focuses on optimizing cross-functional effectiveness and driving improved business results. She brings over 20 years of experience working in client success, human capital management, and SaaS domains.
Amy previously served as Vice President of Client Success at Montage. She also has held leadership positions at Oracle, Taleo, and Sterling Talent Solutions.
VP, Technology Strategy
As VP, Technology Strategy at Modern Hire, Greg Meyers assists with product vision and is responsible for its underlying infrastructure. He has more than 30 years of experience developing and deploying complex software systems.
Prior to joining Modern Hire, Greg served as Vice President of Technology Strategy at Montage. He has worked with such well-known Fortune 500 companies as GE Healthcare, where he was the product manager and lead software architect on General Electric Medical System’s Magnetic Resonance system, and IBM, where he was Vice President of Architecture and ASQ Products. Previously, Greg was a founder of Palladio software, which was acquired by Rational Software and, later, IBM.
Eric oversees all research and product innovation initiatives at Modern Hire, including the data science-focused Labs team. He is passionate about applying machine learning, and deep learning in particular, to candidate data to more effectively match candidates with career opportunities. Eric is highly motivated to show the power of these new AI-based technologies and guide them to ensure they benefit individuals as well as organizations. He writes extensively on and has spoken around the world on these topics.
Eric previously served as Executive Vice President, Innovation at Shaker International, of which he was also a founder. He also was as a Consultant at CEB/SHL.
As Vice President, Engineering at Modern Hire, Dhaval Vasavada leads the engineering organization and is responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing engineering strategies, procedures, and goals.
Prior to Modern Hire, Dhaval was Vice President of Engineering at Montage. He also served as Vice President of Software Engineering at CoreLogic, where he provided strategic and operational leadership for the company’s software engineering efforts. He has more than 15 years of experience leading organizations of different sizes and across diverse geographical locations at companies in the financial, insurance, real estate, and human capital domains.
