Modern Slavery Act Statement

Modern Hire, Inc. Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement

At Modern Hire, Inc. we are committed to recognizing and combating the risk of modern slavery in our supply chain. We work with our suppliers to build a business with respect for human rights at its core. This statement sets out the steps taken by Modern Hire’s companies to prevent modern slavery in its own business and supply chain for the financial year ending 31 December 2021.

This statement has been published in accordance with the United Kingdom Modern Slavery Act 2015. The statement is issued by Modern Hire, Inc. for itself and for each of Modern Hire Inc.’s subsidiaries operating in the United Kingdom (including Modern Hire UK Limited) regardless of whether they are specifically required by the Act to publish an annual modern slavery statement.

Organization's structure and supply chains

Modern Hire provides platform-based employee recruitment services based on its intelligent hiring platform technology. Modern Hire’s technology helps recruiters and hiring managers identify best-fit candidates and automate workflows with screening, interviewing and assessment technology.

Modern Hire, Inc. is the parent company of the group, and it is based at 3201 Enterprise Parkway, Suite 460, Cleveland, Ohio USA 44122. The group has over 200 employees worldwide and operates globally.

Given the nature of Modern Hire’s business, which provides a cloud-based software-as-a-service to its clients, Modern Hire does not have a traditional supply chain and considers itself to be low risk with respect to slavery and human trafficking issues. We require our vendors, contractors, partners, and other suppliers to comply with applicable laws and regulations (which may include the Modern Slavery Act 2015). We will, however, continue to monitor the level of risk throughout our current supply chains and take action should we determine a higher risk of modern slavery exists. We are committed to ensuring that there is no slavery or human trafficking arising in any part of our business or in relation to those with whom we conduct business. We are in consultation with our supply chains to encourage a culture of transparency. We are evaluating the introduction of a supply chain compliance program to ensure all those in our supply chain align with our values and ethics.

Policy on slavery and human trafficking

We have policies in place that underpin our commitment to ensure that our business is run in a fair and ethical way. Those policies presently reflect Modern Hire’s U.S. based stance on ethical matters such as child and forced labour.

Our present relevant polices and corporate documentation include:

  • Modern Hire’s Code of Conduct and Ethics.

  • Modern Hire’s Employee Handbooks

We operate a 24/7 Ethics Hotline, Red Flag Reporting, that provides a clear route for employees to report any concerns on matters of ethics at any point. Reports to Red Flag Reporting are taken very seriously and are thoroughly investigated by Modern Hire. We also operate a non-retaliation policy to encourage employees to voice any concerns they may have, including about modern slavery and any other human rights violations.

We are frequently reviewing our policies, statements and handbooks with the intention of ensuring that these materials are reflective of the current Modern Slavery Act and possible future amendments to the Act as well as other legislation and regulation addressing modern slavery that applies to Modern Hire’s business in the geographic regions where Modern Hire operates.

Due diligence processes, risk assessment and performance monitoring for slavery and human trafficking

Our present due diligence on modern slavery issues is embedded in the ethical risk assessment we undertake when contracting with new suppliers to the business. To date we have not identified key performance indicators (KPIs) that we can use to report progress. However, Modern Hire will review the possibility of developing KPIs for use in future reporting in order to bring insights on ways we can tackle slavery and human trafficking in our organization. We aim to monitor and increase the ethical standards in our supply chain.

Training about slavery and human trafficking

All Modern Hire employees are required to read and understand the Modern Hire policies and staff handbooks and uphold them in day-to-day activities. All employees are also expected to ensure that all suppliers, agents and contractors are aware of, understand and adhere to our standards.

Further steps

We are committed to developing and improving the measures we have in place to combat slavery and human trafficking in our business and in our supply chain. Accordingly, we will monitor global developments in pertinent legislation and regulation and will adapt and adjust our policies and stance accordingly.
