Assessing Candidates for Medical Roles

Modern Hire

Client

A major medical group in the United States that provides services through a network of close to 3,000 outpatient centers in the United States serving over 200,000 patients.

Problem

The organization wanted to better evaluate the capabilities and company culture fit of Registered Nurse (RN) and Nurse Assistant (NA) candidates. This company values service excellence and exceeding the expectations of their patients, which is why assessing capabilities and job fit of candidates is a top priority.

Solution

Modern Hire worked with the client to develop an interactive Virtual Job Tryout to measure situational judgement, culture fit, work history, and work style. Candidates received a preview of the job, allowing them to assess whether the job requirements aligned with their personal preferences and skills.

Results

RN candidates who scored high on the VJT were:

  • 3.5x more likely to have “above average” overall
    ratings compared to low scorers
  • 4x more likely to be rated as a “top performer”

NA candidates who scored high on the VJT were:

  • 5x more likely to have “above average” overall
    ratings compared to low scorers
    • 5.11x more likely to be rated as a “top performer”

will find the candidate experience engaging and
    informative
  • 77% agreed the Virtual Job Tryout will help
candidates determine if the RN role is right for them
  • 81% agreed the Virtual Job Tryout content is relevant
    to the job

will find the candidate experience engaging and
    informative

candidates determine if the PCT role is right for them
