With more than 15 years of experience in talent assessment and over 20 years of sales and business development expertise, Anello is an accomplished executive leader with a successful record of growing business, building customer-centric and profitable teams, and developing comprehensive go-to-market strategy.
Anello and his team will focus on accelerating Shaker’s growth into new markets and further commercializing the firm’s award-winning Virtual Job Tryout technology and other intellectual property. He will be responsible for Shaker’s business development, account management, marketing, partner programs, and expanding the company’s solutions into new offerings.
“Tony is here to take us to the next level,” said Shaker’s CEO, Brian Stern. “He’s lived in the assessment space and is familiar with the challenges, the technology, the science, and the amazing opportunity Shaker has to leverage our recent advancements in artificial intelligence and machine learning.”
“He will not just be helping us scale the business, he brings knowledge essential to the thoughtful build out of our sales, marketing, and product development functions and the process discipline for how best-in-class teams work,” Stern added.
Anello had held executive sales and business development positions at Thomsons, CEB, and SHL. As Chief Commercial Officer at Thomsons, he led the Global Revenue Team and grew the business by more than 200 percent in just 24 months, adding more than one million new users to the company’s platform. As Executive Vice President – Americas at CEB, Anello was responsible for helping the company achieve double-digit bookings and revenue growth. He is credited with redesigning strategy and product offerings to target specific industry needs.
Anello also previously served as Director of Sales at ePredix/Previsor (acquired by CEB), Senior Business Development Manager at LexisNexis, Regional Manager at Techies.com, and Business Development Manager at Thomson Reuters.
“I’ve been working in the talent assessment world for more than 15 years, and before getting to know Shaker more closely, I was convinced most companies in the space looked pretty similar,” Anello said. “What Shaker is doing to engage candidates, bring the employer brand to life, and drive quality of hire is simply unmatched. They are exactly what companies are looking for in the age of digital recruiting and are poised to become the global leader in talent measurement. Their AI and deep-learning research provide a springboard into better hiring decisions for generations to come.”
“Shaker was founded on the kind of principles and rigor you’d expect from some of the industry’s best practitioners,” he added. “With so much focus on building award-winning solutions, this is really the first time investment has been made to scale the business. I look forward to bringing the Shaker story and results to many other top brands globally. Their client base already includes a premier list of top organizations, and we are now ready to leverage that experience.”
