5 Questions with Brittany Schroeder

Want to know more about the team at Modern Hire? Brittany Schroeder, HR Specialist, is stepping into the spotlight this week to answer five questions about her role at Modern Hire and share some fun facts.

How long have you been at Modern Hire and what does your job entail?
I have been with Modern Hire for a year and five months. My job includes a variety of tasks, including but not limited to, employee benefits, payroll, employee relations, facilities management, maintaining employee records, and helping to develop and implement new internal initiatives while always keeping employee experience top of mind.

What’s your favorite things about working at Modern Hire?
My favorite thing about Modern Hire is the people. I find it fascinating that we have employees all over the world and everyone has a different story to tell. It has been so awesome getting to know colleagues through our Off the Clock internal podcast that I normally wouldn’t interact with. I can’t wait to get to know more people on a personal level!

What is the best career lesson you’ve learned so far?
“What you do matters.” Most people spend at least a third of their life at work – so make sure it’s something you enjoy doing while also making the world a better place because of it.

What’s a fun fact about you most people probably don’t know?
I prefer to still take notes, make lists, etc., on paper rather than using the Notes app on my phone or OneNote on my laptop.

Where is your favorite place in the world?
My favorite place in the world is somewhere with warm weather, palm trees, and the ocean. Catch me running a space heater in my home office or at my cubicle 9 out of 12 months in Wisconsin!
